Summer bonuses increased 64,000 yen
Average amount of summer bonuses received by Japanese workers are 559,000 yen, 64,000 yen increase from the last summer Nippon Life Insurance Company(Nissay) revealed.
The research was done on the internet acquired 10,386 participants.
According to the result, the ratio of people who responded that their bonus was increased was 51.7 percent in twenties and was 35.1 percent in fifties. On the other hand, the people who said that it decreased was 6.0 percent in twenties and was 15.3 percent in fifties.
It is assumed that the fact that more percentages of people are working as a temporary employee or a contracted employee whose compensation structure is apt to reflect corporate performances of company in twenties compared to older generations affected the result.

"The Wolf Children Ame and Yuki" drew 2.4M people in a month
"The Wolf Children Ame and Yuki" the animation film directed by Mamoru Hosoda released in July 21st drew 2.4 million audiences in first 30 days in Japan.

Mamoru Hosoda is the director of "Summer Wars"(2009) and "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time"(2006).

Narita Airport: jam of people returning home
At Narita International Airport, approximately 50,000 people entered Japan in August 18th. The number of the airport users including entrances and departures will be 3.74 million during the summer season(Jul 13th - Sep 12th) increased by 9 percents from the corresponding period of last year.

Comic Market 82 attracted 560,000 visitors in 3 days
Comic Market 82(Aug 10-12) gathered 560,000 subculture fans to Tokyo Big Sight. 210,000, the largest number for a day visited during the final day alone.
The number 560,000 equaled the summer of 2009 2010, recovering from the last year's decrease after the greatest earthquake.
15,000 circles joined the final day.
The next Comic Market 83 will be coming to Tokyo Big Sight from December 29th to 31st 2012.

Akihabara maids all together sprinkled water on the street
About 50 waitresses working at maid cafes in Akihabara, Tokyo and people in costumes all together sprinkled water on the street in the afternoon of August 4th.
The temperature at the ground surface dropped by 7C(44.6F) 15 minutes after the event which was 36.7C(98.1F) before the event.
