[SONY WALKMAN] music and swimming



Sony on February 16th released Walkman W series NWD-W273 updated for swimmers to be able to listen to music in the water. It has 4GB of capacity, 29g of weight and an USB 2.0 port and takes 90 minutes to be fully charged for 8 hours of music play. It is 9,072 yen($97.81). It can not be used inside a bath and sauna owing to the temperature.

Apple's "Siri" will make CD debut

Apple's Siri personificated


The music CD named "Teach us Ms. Siri" featuring Siri, the personal assistant and navigation application for Apple's iOS will be released on December 8th. It included "Hello, Siri-tan" uploaded on video-sharing websites earlier this year and 5 new songs.

A new maid cafe inside Yodobashi-Akiba

A maid cafe named "Candy Fruits" will open inside the second floor of Yodobashi Camera Multimedia Akiba(Yodobashi-Akiba) in Akihabara, Tokyo in September 1st.
The cafe has 42 seats in approximately 50 square metre space.

Pervasion of Smartphone is 18% in Japan

The recent research by Nikkei BP Consulting, Inc revealed that pervasion of smartphones reached 18.0% in Japan.
Among the 4,400 respondents, 1,152 or 26.2% said that they have at least one smartphone. Because the respondents were sampled equally from gender and generation, revision was added to the result considering demographics of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications and pervasion of mobile phones. As a result, estimated pervasion of smartphones was 18.0% jumped up from last year's 9.5%.
Customer satisfaction to mobile phone carriers is ranked 1:KDDI(au) 2:NTT DOCOMO 3:SoftBank, while satisfaction to smartphone devices and services were ranked 1:SoftBank 2:KDDI(au) 3:NTT DOCOMO. SoftBank(since 2008) and KDDI(since 2011) carries iPhone.
