In last five years, 7 out of 35 or 20 percent of Japanese golf players who played at The Open Championship advanced to the final round(the fourth day) while 22 out of 68 or 32.3 percent did in last 10 years.
This year, Yoshinori Fujimoto and Toshinori Muto out of 8 Japanese players made it to the final round. However Ryo Ishikawa, the top of all Japanese players, the official world ranking of 68 failed to make the cut two years in a row.
